021: Chapter 2 ~ Now, Go to the City! ①

The three soon found themselves in the city.

“Why?” Charlotte screams.

“What are you unhappy about?” Allen retorts.

The three are in the city near the mansion where Allen resides. It’s a reasonably large city with several popular dungeons nearby, so there’s plenty of adventurers coming and going. The head office of the courier service that Myaha works at is also located in this town.

Since it was just past noon, the main street they were on was crowded. Charlotte is excitedly hiding behind the corner of the building. She’s hidden her face behind a piece of cloth from Allen’s mansion, so she looks quite suspicious.

Erika shrugs and responds to Charlotte’s question.

“This is a battle to see who between my brother or I can do a better job of pleasing Charlotte. There’s only so much we can get up to in that gloomy mansion, so we came here.” Erika

Charlotte looks around the main street. Unfortunately, there were newspapers displayed on the bulletin board on the main street. One of them has a familiar face on it… Charlotte’s.

“If I go out, I’ll definitely get caught… I’d hate that… Allen and Erika will be inconvenienced.” Charlotte

“Even now, you worry more about others? That’s so you.” Allen reassures Charlotte with a smile.

Charlotte sneezes in surprise. While handing her a handkerchief, Allen whispers into her ear.

“It’ll be fine. Don’t worry and leave it to me.” Allen

He gently touches her head and snaps his fingers.

“<Shape Shift>” Allen

“Iya” Charlotte

A faint light suffused Charlotte’s hair before disappearing. Allen handed Charlotte a hand mirror, which she turned to look into.

“Oh, my hair… It’s turning black!” Charlotte exclaims.

“Well, it’s a simple disguise magic.” Allen

Charlotte’s beautiful golden hair has been turned to a jet black color like blackest night. Charlotte stares deeply into the mirror, perhaps she’s never experienced something like this.

“With a different hairstyle, nobody would be able to identify you. We’ll make sure to be careful as well.” Allen

“Oh, thank you very much…” Charlotte

“Hmm, leave the styling to me!” Erika exclaims while she gets behind Charlotte and starts to work on her long hair.

“Yeah, this looks good on you! I also have black hair like this. And… done. That’s the best I can do in this amount of time, sorry about that.” Erika

“Yes, same as Allen… well, half the same.” Charlotte

“Well” Allen shrugs in Charlotte’s direction.

Allen stares at her black hair. It has a nice glossy finish, though there are some split ends. It’s beautiful black hair…

“But, once we get back, I’ll remove the magic.” Allen

“Ah, that’s right…” Charlotte

“Why? Black hair looks nice!” Erika

Erika is dissatisfied with Allen’s comment, Charlotte is more unsure. Allen is clear with his decision.

“Black isn’t bad, but golden is the color that suits Charlotte. I like her that way the most.” Allen

“Ha…” Charlotte trails off and freezes.

Erika rolls her eyes.

“Huh? Did I say something strange?” Allen

“…No- Nothing…” Charlotte mumbles.

“Hey, brother? Let’s get moving?” Erika

Charlotte looks at the ground with a flushed red face. Erika ties up Charlotte’s hair, then takes her hand and smiles.

“Ok, you hair is fixed differently now. I don’t want to lose to my brother, so I’ll try to teach you things that only women would think about!” Erika

“Oh, what’s the cool things that only girls can do?” Allen

“Hmm, we’ll find out, right?” Erika retorts with a wide grin.

“Of course, we’ll start with fashion! We’ll try on many clothes and accessories! Let’s get going!” Erika

“Woah! Slow down!” Charlotte

“Hey, be careful. If you run, you might fall.” Allen

Allen started walking after the pair who had run off hand in hand.
