Chapter 147: Time of Turmoil 9: Cowardly
Settings
Wiley and Van Pelt are momentarily confused.
I just asked them to defeat the commander of the Royal Guards. He’s ranked as one of the top fighters in the Kingdom, plus he’s wearing full-body metal armor.
But their commander gave them an order, so…
“Understood” Van Pelt
“Van Pelt, are you sure?” Wiley
“We’ll have to work together to exploit the gaps in his armor. I’ve not done a lot of team fighting, but I’ve been alongside you for a long time. It’s a small boon.” Van Pelt
“That sounds like the only option. Let’s go” Wiley
“Yeah” Van Pelt
At that point, the two begin to move. Their spears move so fast and well-coordinated that anyone would think the two had trained for years together.
However, their opponent is the leader of the Royal Guards. He takes advantage of his armor to reduce the number of evasive actions he needs to take. Wiley and Van Pelt are unable to find an opening to attack through the armor.
“Mirko, distract the commander by throwing a shuriken into his helmet.” Patrick
I had been moving closer to Mirko without him noticing anything.
“Eh? Can’t we leave it to those two?” Mirko
“The leader is stronger than I expected. If a third party doesn’t create an opening, I don’t think those two will find an opening. Just do it!” Patrick
“Yes, sir” Mirko
Fssh!
The shuriken is thrown with that sound and flies neatly towards the opening of Reaper’s helmet, right at his eyes.
“Nooo!” Reaper
The Royal Guard captain noticed the action at the last second and barely evaded.
“Cowards! Now there’s even more?” Reaper
“Cowards? Fuck off!
Aren’t you the greatest coward here?
You are nothing more than a dog that waves its tail at Henry, a coward who revolts when the Kingdom Armies are busy maintaining order! A craven leader who quickly points his sword at the Royal Family he swore to guard!
You are the greatest coward! Let’s make sure your name is written into history for your faint-hearted acts! Haha!” Patrick laughs as he glares at Reaper
During my tirade, a gap appeared, and Wiley doesn’t let it go unused.
“Ah!” Wiley
Wiley stabs his spear, the tip is stuck in the commander’s left armpit.
“Ugh” Reaper grunts as he takes a step back
Van Pelt takes further advantage and finds an opening of his own. He puts his spear into a gap around the left elbow, pushing Reaper further back.
That’s when Mirko threw another shuriken. I heard a nice reaction.
“Aughhhhh!” Reaper
He drops his sword to attempt to pull the shuriken that lodged into his eyes.
“Chance!” Wiley shouts as he rushed forward with Van Pelt right behind
Two spears find gaps in the commander’s right arm and his thigh.
