October 2020

So now we’ve made it into October. I’ve gotten myself organized enough to keep
pushing out 9 chapters a week, somehow. Sometime I’ll need to get more ahead
of the queue so I can have a full week of reviewed posts on hand. I’m not going
to look at a new series until December, but I’d like to add a new series on
January 1, 2021. We’ll see what can happen then.
(Oct 12) No more double chapters on weekends. I’ve burned up my backlog and can’t build it back up. Hopefully I can keep enough going that the double-length chapters don’t require a skip day, but we’ll see.
I hope October doesn’t turn into Scrubtober, get those rockets launching! NROL-44 is turning into a meme with how many issues it’s run into with launch. Oct 23: October saw some rockets get launched, but NROL-44 still ain’t up. SpaceX ran into an engine issue that impacted 3 boosters, though some of the Starlink launches flew. Rocket Lab had an issue with “In Focus”, though they may launch on October 28. I guess the Soyuz launch went on time, but that descends from an ICBM, doesn’t count. So Scrubtober totally happened.
I’ve managed to catch up with the manga at this point. I’ll going into a brand new frontier. Also, I introduced a bunch of code for themes for the website at the end of September, now I’m dissatisfied with the result and redid the styles.
So, October 11 was a bit of a mess. I can edit on my laptop, but the release script is on my desktop (AWS credentials on the laptop are for work). Power is out most of the afternoon, so it took a while to a release out.
So I’m slowing down releases until I can build up a backlog again.
While I’m rebuilding a backlog, I decided to rework my existing chapters with attributed dialog instead of bare dialog. Found some errors in the chapters, fixed those as well. Took Oct 23-26, but I’m back to working on new chapters.
So releases are starting again on November 1. Dark theme is now dark blue instead of black. Backlog is building up as needed.
